Colorado snow-capped mountains are the headwaters to crystal blue lakes and life sustaining rivers that provide abundant recreation opportunities for water activities. Enjoy kayaking across the sparkling waters of Twin or Turquoise Lakes or feel the thrill of rafting down the Arkansas River.
Whatever you do, know that aquatic nuisance species, like New Zealand mud snails, Zebra and Quagga mussels, are non-native aquatic invaders that threaten Colorado's lakes and streams. So clean, drain, and dry everything that came into contact with the water so as not to introduce these into other bodies of water.
