Monsoon rains in the Chiricahua Mountains have raised water levels. Beginning today and into this weekend the Douglas Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest will temporarily close the sites until further notice.The following recreation sites are temporarily closed to human entry:
Sunny Flat Campground
Some areas will be gated, others posted with signs. Copies of the Special Closure Orders and maps will be posted at closed areas, available at the Douglas Ranger District Office, Closing the sites until the flood risk subsides will prevent visitors from being surprised by flooding or flash flooding resulting from rain events further up the canyon.
