El Yunque National Forest will re-open to the public on Wednesday September 2, 2015. The Forest closed when Tropical Storm Erika passed through the area on August 27 and 28 and as a precaution for visitor safety, the Forest was closed for clean up of roads, facilities and trails.
Please use caution when using roads and trails in the Forest that may be slippery due to downed trees, branches and vegetation. Some areas may be closed off for safety reasons.
Camping and issuance of camping permits has been suspended until it has been detemined that conditions are safe for camping in designated areas.
Guided nature walk program has been suspended until futher notice.
