NEW BERN, N.C., Sept. 29, 2014 – The U.S. Forest Service will close Cedar Point Campground in the Croatan National Forest tomorrow, Sept. 30, for renovations. The popular campground will remain closed for approximately five months as part of a $700,000 renovation project.
Improvements and construction projects at Cedar Point Campground will include:
Replacing an aging and failing sewer system;
Relocating the sewer dump station for RVs;
Upgrading the electrical system at campsites from a 30-amp to a 50-amp system;
Renovating campsites; and
Renovating the toilet and shower building, including water-saving fixtures.
