NEW BERN, N.C., Sept. 9, 2014 – Dozens of Marine Special Operations School students and instructors will participate in a training exercise in the Croatan National Forest, September 19-23.
The training will occur near Stella, Hunters Creek Rd., Great Lake Rd. and Haywood Landing in the national forest along the White Oak River. Participants will wear civilian and other distinctive clothing. Rental and non-military government vehicles will be used in the exercise. No firearms or explosives will be used and each participant will carry an ID card.
While no roads or areas will be closed to the general public during these exercises, occasional heavy traffic and congestion may be encountered, so visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly.
Similar trainings are scheduled for Oct. 10-14 and Oct. 31-Nov. 4.
