All Trails on the Cle Elum and Naches Ranger Districts are Closed to Motorized Use until June 15.
Trails are extremely susceptible to damage during the spring thaw. Unlike roads, which in most cases have been improved with gravel surfaces, trail tread is comprised almost entirely of soils native to the surrounding landscape. It is important that trails be allowed dry prior to use by motorized vehicles in order to prevent excessive rutting and erosion.
Once trails have dried and can be traveled on without excessive damage, maintenance including log out and drainage work can take place and trails will be opened for motorized use. It is anticipated that some trails may open by mid-May.
Maps of the closures will be posted at all motorized trailheads and on this website. As trails open, these maps will be updated to reflect those trails that are open to motorized use.
