Fall-like conditions have allowed the Naches Ranger District to lift the campfire ban for the season and extend firewood cutting through October 15, 2015.
Although the campfire ban has been lifted, fire danger remains high. Forest visitors still must attend their campfires at all times and make sure they are cold to the touch before leaving.
Woodcutters still need to check Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL) for the zone in which they are cutting. Current IFPL information can be found at https://fortress.wa.gov/dnr/ifpl/IFPL.aspx.
Woodcutting permits will be sold through October 15.
*10-15-15 will be the last day to cut and haul for 2015. The extention is the maximum time allowed from the law suit settlement back in the 1980's.
