Heavy rain earlier in the week has rivers and streams running very high with rapid currents. These factors and the chilly weather makes for an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation.
Keep these in mind as you recreate this weekend:
Beware of slick and slippery rocks. Any amount of moisture and rocks become slippery and provide unstable footing.
If there is a rail, fence, or warning sign - heed it and don't try to go around or slip behind. The safety precautions are appropriately placed, most likely because of other unfortunate incidents at that location.
Water fluctuates rapidly. Be certain to look for changes in water levels; don't assume the conditions are the same as earlier in the day.
