NOTICE: Forest offices scheduled to be closed temporarily for employee training
All Malheur National Forest offices will be adjusting their schedules on April 22 to accommodate the ability of their employees to attend mandatory training.
The Prairie City Ranger District in Prairie City and Emigrant Creek Ranger District in Hines will be closed for business all day on April 22.
The Supervisor’s Office in John Day will remain open for their normal business hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but only have the ability to sell forest products between the hours of 7:45 to 9:00 a.m., and again in the afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
We ask that you take this into consideration when needing to purchase forest products, such as maps and firewood permits. We appreciate your understanding.

Once you find the forest/grassland(s) of your choice you may request specific information by contacting the forest/grassland directly. You may also want to try www.recreation.gov for more information about recreational opportunities on public lands.
