Hours Needed: Flexible hours between 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Suitable for (Adults and/or Youth ages?): 18 years or older
Difficulty Level (Moderate): Trail maintenance assignments range from light to arduous depending on tasks assigned.  General trail maintenance requires bending, lifting, reaching, walking, carrying and repetitive  motions for long hours.
Opportunity Description:
There are several miles of trails to be maintained within the Bankhead National Forest. This maintenance opportunity gives the volunteer a chance to maintain as well as enjoy some of  the most beautiful trail systems in Alabama. Trail systems to be maintained include Sipsey Wilderness hiking, horse and wagon trails, Owl Creek Horse Trail, and Flint Creek Multiple Use trail systems. Volunteers will be required to clip brush, install water bars, remove trees and report task as they are completed. All work done in the Sipsey Wilderness area requires hand tools only.

Difficulty Level (Moderate): Campground hosting requires constant interaction with campground visitors by providing assistance with general information and enforcing rules and regulations of the campground facility. Duties may require general cleaning and maintenance of the campground.
Opportunity Description:
This volunteer opportunity may include general clean up, picking up trash, restroom cleaning, and assistance with general facility maintenance projects. Host will be provided with a free no utilities campsite from March 1-November 1.

Suitable for (Adults and/or Youth ages?): 21 or older
Difficulty Level (Easy to Moderate): Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multitask. Volunteer must possess excellent customer service skills, communication and computer skills.
Opportunity Description:
Handle guest questions and concerns professionally. Relay accurate and appropriate information about general and detailed information about the Bankhead National Forest. Assist with answering telephones, relay messages, file papers and make copies.
