Decision Signed Regarding "FY07 Regeneration Project" in Marienville Ranger District

Marienville, Pa. – Marienville District Ranger Rob T. Fallon signed a decision that will regenerate 428 acres of the Marienville Ranger District in Elk and Forest Counties. These stands of trees need regeneration (create a forest of young trees) because many of these stands have understory vegetation interfering with regeneration of young trees and need additional wood harvest, herbicide, fertilizer, site preparation, planting, or fencing/tree shelters to help young seedlings develop.
Early-structural habitat to benefit game species, warblers, hunters and birdwatchers, and insects will be created on 320 acres.
