Aerial Weed Spraying Adjacent to Interstate 15

Butte, Mont., October 6, 2017 —The Butte and Wisdom Ranger Districts of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) are planning an aerial spray project to treat noxious weed populations adjacent to the Interstate 15 corridor between October 6 and 13.  Spray locations include: Fleecer Mountain; German Gulch- Norton Creek and Charcoal Gulch to Water Gulch.  The area around Charcoal Gulch is being sprayed in cooperation with Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, the Bureau of Land Management, and Silver Bow County, while the area around German Gulch is being sprayed in conjunction with Beaverhead County. 

Additional spraying will occur in and around Trapper Creek, Canyon Creek, Maiden Rock and Cop Jackson in conjunction with Beaverhead County.    These project were made possible with support from Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) funding and a grant from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
