Hamilton, MT, – A case containing some important and expensive high-tech equipment used by fire crews to track wind speeds and air temperatures has been found this morning.  The case containing weather sensors and solar panels went missing yesterday when fire crews arrived at a prescribed burn near Darby and discovered the equipment was no longer on their engine.

Shortly after a story about the missing case aired on the 10 p.m. news last night, a member of the public called Crime Stoppers to report that they had found it Sunday morning along Eastside Highway between Stevensville and Corvallis.  It appears at this time, that the case accidently came off the engine in route to the prescribed burn.  The portable weather station was valued at approximately $10,000.

The Bitterroot National Forest would like to thank the public for their help in locating the equipment.
