There are several maps available of the Black Hills area. Most road maps are available for free, but more detailed maps are available for purchase.
The Black Hills National Forest Visitor's Map is a comprehensive map showing forest roads, highways, cities, bodies of water, recreational sites, campgrounds, trails, and private vs. public land designations on the entire Black Hills National Forest.
The Black Hills National Forest Visitor Map is now available for use with iOS Mobile Devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) or Android (4.0.3 or newer)
If you own a mobile device such as an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Android (4.0.3 or newer), you can take the Black Hills National Forest Visitor Map with you.
1. Download the free Avenza PDFMaps app, available at http://www.avenza.com/pdf-maps to your mobile device.
2. Once you have Avenza on your mobile device, use the app on your device to purchase ($4.99 per side) and download the map. Search for “Black Hills Visitor Map” to purchase and download North and/or South Visitor map for the Black Hills National Forest.
The Black Hills National Forest Visitor's Map is also available in paper format from any of the local Forest Service offices.
