Contact(s): Boise National Forest 208-373-4100

BOISE, Idaho, - The Boise National Forest has plenty of day-use recreation opportunities for the public to take advantage of this Veterans Day holiday weekend.  All day-use fees will be waived to encourage people to get out and enjoy the national forests.

While most day-use sites remain open many have limited amenities such as closed restroom facilities because of the time of year.  Concessionaire operated day-use sites may be included in the waiver if the permit holder wishes to participate.

Veterans Day is the final fee waiver day this year in cooperation with other federal agencies as part of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA).

The fee waiver day also support the goals of President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors Initiative and First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" by actively supporting and promoting programs, projects and initiatives that encourage the use of outdoor spaces by the public.
