Carson National Forest to Provide Fire Season Outlook Presentation

Taos, NM (April 9, 2017) - For Immediate Release. The Carson National Forest is hosting a monthly speaker series that will run from April through October 2018. Each month the speaker series will focus on a topic that relates to the Carson National Forest. Speaker Series events will take place on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. at the Carson National Forest Supervisor’s Office at 208 Cruz Alta Road in Taos. This is a free public event with seating limited to a first come-first serve basis.
The public is invited to attend the inaugural Carson National Forest Speaker Series event that will take place on April 12th. Forest staff will give presentations on this year’s wildland fire potential, seasonal weather outlook, and the role of fire in the ecosystem. There will also be a discussion on what private landowners can do to protect their homes from wildland fires.
