Carson National Forest to terminate all Fire Restrictions

Taos, NM, July 15, 2013 – With the arrival of the much anticipated monsoon season, the moisture and high humidities have helped to mitigate the immediate fire danger on the Carson National Forest. Effective immediately, all fire restrictions and Pecos Wilderness Area Closures have been lifted. However, the Jaroso Fire Area on the Santa Fe National Forest Pecos Wilderness Area will remain closed.
We would like to thank the area residents and forest visitors for their compliance while fire restrictions were in place and greatly appreciated everyone working together to prevent any unwanted wildfires on our forest.
