Invasive Plant Treatment

Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement - FSEIS

The Deschutes & Ochoco National Forests and Crooked River National Grassland has completed work on the Invasive Plant Treatments Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FSEIS), which analyzes treatment on invasive plants totaling approximately 14,500 acres. The purpose of this project is to reverse the negative impacts caused by the invasive plants and to restore ecological communities and function at the impacted treatment sites in an effective manner that meets current management direction. The establishment and spread of invasive plants can be slowed with timely action. We have decided to implement Alternative 2 to treat invasive plants, including a strategy for early detection and treatment of new invasive plant populations, and to utilize the new tools and management direction in Pacific Northwest Region Invasive Plant Program - Preventing and Managing Invasive Plants Record of Decision and Final Environmental Impact Statement.

For more information, please go to our Regional website:

Implementation is expected to reduce the rate of spread of existing and future infestations of invasive plants on the Forests and Grassland.
