Motorized Trails Projects
Selected Areas Currently or Previously Under Analysis
Forest Supervisors, District Rangers, and staff selected the areas listed below as areas where motorized trail systems would be proposed.
These selections were based on:
- Working Group recommendations
- Results of the 2007 public workshops
- Current distribution of motorized and non-motorized recreation opportunities in central Oregon
- Providing opportunities for all classes of non-highway licensed vehicles
- Providing opportunities where there is also strong demand
- Locations where designated trail systems could effectively help resolve social, resource, and/or enforcement concerns
- Staffing available to complete projects in desired timeframe
