Opportunity Description
Make a difference this summer--Become a Stream Watch Ambassador. Meet interesting people, protect local rivers and have fun on Alaska's world famous fisheries! Stream Watch Ambassadors are in for an exciting adventure and an extremely important undertaking. Years of use on local rivers by thousands of anglers and visitors have left their mark on the highly valued natural and cultural resources that exist. Your presence, your concern and your effort on behalf of the rivers will have a lasting effect. Ambassadors share river saving information on everything from ethical angling to bear safety while they walk rivers completing a variety of projects. Projects may include river clean-up, fishing line collection for recycling, mending habitat fencing and other fish protection projects. All of the training, supplies and on-going support are provided for a successful outreach season. Free campsites are available for volunteer days. Every time ambassadors answer a question, keep the streams clear of litter or mend a habitat fence they can be assured that current and future generations will enjoy the magnificent Kenai River.
