Williwaw Nature Trail
A Stroll Through Nature
The Williwaw Nature Trail begins at the Williwaw Fish Viewing Platform, passes under the highway bridge and follows Williwaw Creek to a series of ponds. The trail winds around the ponds, crosses Portage Glacier Road and continues south another 1/2 mile to connect to the Trail of Blue Ice. From the Trail of Blue Ice you can continue east to the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center or west to loop back to where you started. To get back to the Williwaw Fish Viewing Platform you will need to proceed through Williwaw Campground. Click here for a map. This a good trail to view or photograph wildlife.
This is an easy trail, about 1.25 miles in length with little elevation gain. Please exercise extreme caution when crossing the road.
