Flagstaff, AZ —Several lightning-caused wildfires have been reported today on the Coconino National Forest. The largest is the Tuba Fire, located about 20 miles north of Flagstaff and 1 mile west of Highway 89 near the forest boundary. About 100 acres in size, multiple fire units are on scene. Another smaller fire is reported about 2 miles south.

Firefighters are also responding to six other small lightning caused fires near Strawberry Crater, Sycamore Canyon and Mogollon Rim. No structures or private lands are threatened.

5 p.m. update:

The Tuba Fire is 100% contained, 350 acres. It burned mostly grass and sparse pinyon-juniper fuels; fire spreads more rapidly through those fuels.
