Gateway Visitor Centers Provide Helpful Services & Information to Residents & Visitors

Sedona, AZ - Five Gateway Visitor Centers in the Red Rock Country of Sedona are currently providing a full spectrum of visitor services and information to the public. Each Gateway is staffed with knowledgeable staff and volunteers. These new visitor centers are called "Gateway" visitor centers because they are located within the primary entrance ways into Sedona allowing easy access for visitors and residents. Each Gateway has a unique emphasis, and they are all enriched because of the partnership between the USDA Forest Service, the Sedona-Oak Creek Chamber of Commerce, the Sedona Cultural Park, Recreation Resource Management and the Arizona Natural History Association.
All five Gateway Visitor Centers offer an assortment of visitor information services helpful to residents and visitors:
- Forest Service Rangers with up-to-date Forest information
- Chamber of Commerce member information and services
- Sedona Cultural Park information
- Red Rock Pass Program information
- Knowledgeable staff to advise visitors how to make the most of their visit to Sedona
- Maps for all types of recreation and trip planning
- Information on the ecology, archeological sites, Oak Creek Canyon, and interpretive information
In addition to these services, each Gateway Visitor Center has its own individual personality, features and benefits such as:
South Gateway Visitor Center — Open from 7:30 am — 5:30 pm., 7 days a week. Located in the Village of Oak Creek in Tequa Plaza, providing:
- Arizona Natural History interpretive materials
- Fuelwood & Mineral Permits
West Gateway Visitor Center — Open from 9am — 5pm Monday — Saturday and 9:00am — 3:00 pm on Sunday. Located in West Sedona at the Sedona Cultural Park.
- Sedona Cultural Park Box office
- Access to Girdner Trailhead
- Chamber of Commerce information, maps & mementos
- Red Rock Pass Program information and services
- Fuelwood & Mineral Permits
Uptown Gateway Visitor Center — Open from 8:30 am — 5 pm Monday — Saturday and 8:30 — 3 pm on Sunday. Located in the Sedona-Oak Creek Canyon Chamber of Commerce on Forest Road in uptown Sedona.
- Information on the chamber members and services in Sedona and Oak Creek
- Ample parking for visiting the Chamber and visiting uptown
- Conveniently located near the Sedona Trolley stop
North Gateway Visitor Center — Open from 8am-5pm, 7 days a week, seasonal. Located in Oak Creek Canyon at the Oak Creek Vista Scenic Overlook.
- Arizona Natural History products, education and Forest Service information.
- Located at 6400 feet elevation amidst the Ponderosa Pine Forest
- Partners with the Native American for Community Action
Oak Creek Visitor Center — Open from 8 am-4:30 pm, 7 days a week located at Indian Gardens in Oak Creek Canyon.
