Timber Mountain Collaboration Meeting

Newport, WA– The Newport and Sullivan Lake Ranger Districts of the Colville National Forest invite interested members of the public to the Timber Mountain Forest Health Improvement Project Public Collaboration Meeting.

The primary purpose of the Timber Mountain Project is to improve forest health and resiliency, decrease the potential for wildfire near communities, restore watershed conditions, and contribute to the economic wellbeing of the area.

The purpose of the collaboration meeting will be to share information regarding the project and discuss forest health improvement proposals and opinions on desired future conditions in the Timber Mountain planning area. The meeting will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the Camas Center, 1981 LeClerc Road North, Cusick, Washington. The Camas Center is on the Kalispel Reservation.

The Timber Mountain project area is located within the Ruby Creek and Lost Creek subwatersheds west of Blueslide, Washington. Primary access is via Ruby Creek Road (County Road 2489), 40 miles northwest of Newport, Washington on the Colville National Forest. A map of the project area will be available at the collaboration meeting.
