Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration (CFLR) Project

The Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 created the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration (CFLR) Program. Through it the Secretary of Agriculture can request up to $40 million annually through 2019 to fund science-based restoration projects on high priority landscapes.

The Fremont-Winema National Forest has collaborated with the Lakeview Stewardship Group to produce a comprehensive restoration strategy for the 662,289-acre Lakeview Federal Stewardship Unit in Lake County in Oregon. It was selected in 2012 as one of ten new CFLR projects in the nation eligible to receive up to $4.0 million annually through 2019.
