America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Land Passes might make a great Christmas gift

Silver City, NM, November 14, 2017—For Immediate Release.  “America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Land Passes are a suite of annual and lifetime passes that provides U.S. citizens and visitors an affordable and convenient way to access Federal recreational lands.”  The passes are valid at more than 2,000 Federal recreation sites where Entrance or Standard Amenity Fees are charged.

There are several different kinds of passes – the Annual Pass which costs $80/year; the Lifetime Senior Pass $80 (proof of age needed) and valid for the lifetime of the pass holder; the Annual Senior Pass (proof of age needed) $20/year; and the Access Pass (with documentation of permanent disability). In addition; if you have a 4th grade student in your home (whether they go to private, public, charter, or an alternative education system) they are eligible for a free 4th Grade Pass. Your student must be present to get the pass.

All of these passes are available for purchase at any of the six ranger districts of the Gila National Forest. Our office hours are Monday – Friday except for federal holidays.
