Forest Service Hosts Public Meeting on Gypsy Moth Defoliation

(03/13/2017) Blacksburg, Va – The U.S.D.A. Forest Service is hosting a public meeting to discuss the gypsy moth defoliation that occurred in Bland, Giles, and Pulaski Counties in 2016 and the results of the recent egg mass surveys which indicate these counties will see more defoliation in 2017.
The meeting will be held on March 14, 2017 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bland County School Board building in Bastian, 361 Bears Trail, Bastian, VA 24313. A formal presentation will be given at 5:00 p.m. on how the Forest Service will address the impacts of the gypsy moth on the National Forest.
