Tipsaw Lake on Hoosier National Forest Re-Opened to Swimming

Tell City, IN – Tipsaw Lake beach has reopened for swimming. The water tests show the lake is now safe for public use.
Hoosier personnel regularly test the water for harmful bacteria in swimming areas. A few tests in late July had high coliform counts. This could have been caused from a number of sources, including animals such as waterfowl.
Tipsaw beach will be open through Labor Day weekend.
