Siskiyou County Resource Advisory Committee to Meet March 21 at the Klamath National Forest Supervisor’s Office

     YREKA, CA—The Siskiyou County Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Klamath National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 1312 Fairlane Road, Yreka, CA.  The meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m. and usually ends before 8:00 p.m.  The public is invited to attend and make comment.

     The best access to the large conference room, will be through the back door of the building where there is plenty of parking.

     The RAC is federally sanctioned by the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and was formed as a result of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000.  The RAC is a local advisory committee that recommends projects to federal land managers which will benefit resources on public lands.  The fifteen member group represents a cross section of county communities, industries, schools, environmentalists, and local government.

The agenda includes project updates and financial status, public comment period, and review of new project proposals to be considered by the RAC. Submissions for project proposals are still being accepted. Applications received by the 1st of the month will be reviewed at that month’s meeting.  Projects selected this year may be implemented in 2012.
