Advisory: Prescribed Burning on Hat Creek Ranger District, Week of Nov. 17

The Hat Creek Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is planning prescribed pile burning, as follows:
- Name of Burn: Legume Machine Piles
- Type of Burn: Pile Burning
- Location: T37N/R2E/Sec 27 and 28
- When: Ignition is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on November 17, 2014, and continue through the week, dependent on incoming moisture.
- Size: Approximately 50 acres of the 340-acre unit. The piles are grapple piles from the Leap and Legume timber sales.
- Duration: Ignition will take place for one day, with smoke being produced for 3 to 5 additional days after.
- Areas of Impact: This burn should have no negative impact to any area communities.

*In addition to the above-listed burn, the Hat Creek R.D. will continue burning on the Ugly Hand Piles. These piles have been previously announced. All burning will continue within the same announced area.
