Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest Web Migration
In December 2015, the Helena and the Lewis and Clark National Forests consolidated, and are now known as one combined forest: Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. To help be more efficient and minimize confusion, we are consolidating our forest websites. Eventually, the new website address will be www.fs.usda.gov/hlcnf, but until the combined site is created, all new forest information—including the information that would have originally been posted on the Lewis and Clark National Forest website—will be posted on this [the Helena] website at: www.fs.usda.gov/helena/.
Once we complete the website migration and consolidation process (meaning, all of the information that is currently on the Lewis and Clark National Forest website has been transferred to the Helena website) we will rename this website and give it a new, consolidated URL/address!
How this impacts you? BEGINNING TODAY, LOOK HERE (www.fs.usda.gov/helena/) FOR ALL HELENA-LEWIS AND CLARK NATIONAL FOREST INFORMATION!
We have already consolidated our Facebook and Twitter accounts. You can find those sites at:
- Facebook: search for “U.S. Forest Service-Helena and Lewis and Clark NF”
- Twitter: @LewisandClark
As you may notice, some have old names or URLs (e.g., Twitter), only because renaming is not feasible without losing the account. Therefore, we will move forward with consolidating and renaming as many sites as possible.
Where to find what you are looking for during the migration process:
- Recreation site information will remain on the the independent websites until the final migration has taken place
- Alerts & Notices:
- All previous Alerts & Notices will remain on the independ sites until the final migration has taken place
- All new Alerts & Notices will be on the Helena National Forest website
- Maps & Publications, Passes & Permits, Land & Resource Management, Learning Center, Working Together, About the Forest will remain on independent websites until migrated - webpage redirects will be put in place as migrated.
- Projects will remain on the the independent websites until the final migration has taken place
- Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest Plan Revision - this section will not be impacted by the migration
