Upcoming Temporary Employment Opportunities

JOHN DAY, OR – Are you looking for an adventurous and rewarding job this summer? The Malheur National Forests will soon begin accepting applications for temporary positions in a variety of programs including fire suppression, recreation, timber, survey crews, archaeology, and botany.
This 2015 application and hiring process is taking place a little earlier than it has in past years, through three separate hiring phases. Applicants interested in temporary positions need to apply online to open vacancies available through www.USAjobs.gov.
The time period for candidates to submit applications for Phase 1 is January 6-12, 2015. Phase 1 hiring includes all temporary fire-related jobs and positions that start prior to May 1, 2015.
Two additional phases of hiring for positions not addressed in in the previous phases will be offered at later dates.

Applicants are reminded to apply to the assigned announcement number associated with the position of interest. Applicants should select only those duty locations where they are willing to accept work. Perspective employees are also encouraged to contact the local supervisor for positions they are interested in.
