Eagle Watchers Program Along the Skagit River
Everett, Wash. Dec. 2, 2016—Each year the Skagit River sees the return of hundreds of eagles taking advantage of the winter salmon runs. For six weekends from December 17th to January 29th*, trained volunteers with the Eagle Watchers program will be posted along the upper Skagit River to help visitors learn more about the largest wintering bald eagle population in the Lower 48. These volunteers will be available to answer questions about bald eagles, salmon and the Skagit watershed at Howard Miller Steelhead Park, Milepost 100 and the Marblemount Fish Hatchery from 10am to 3pm. They’ll have binoculars and spotting scopes available for visitor use.
