Travels with Darley Special Screening and Evening of Family Fun at Pocahontas County Opera House August 11

Elkins, W.Va., June 27, 2018 – Join us at the Pocahontas County Opera House in Marlinton as we celebrate two Travels with Darley episodes featuring West Virginia treasures such as Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Cranberry Glades, Cass Scenic Railroad and showcase adventure recreation activities here in the Mountain State.

Everyone is invited to meet award-winning host Darley Newman, talk with local residents featured in the TV show, view both episodes and participate in an evening of family fun on Saturday August 11. Events begins at 5 p.m. with activities and booths for kids, the screenings at 7 p.m., ice cream sundaes at 8 p.m., and a panel discussion at 8:30 p.m.

“More than one-third of the more than 900,000-acre Monongahela National Forest is in Pocahontas County and though it feels totally wild, it’s located within a day’s drive of about half of our nation’s population,” said Cara Rose, Executive Director of the Pocahontas County CVB. “We’re excited that PBS viewers can experience a portion of one of our nation’s most biologically diverse national forest and what our state has to offer visitors through these stunning episodes.”
