Release Date: Nov 6, 2018

Sandy, OR - The Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon Department of Transportation, & Western Federal Lands invite the public to the grand opening of the new Mirror Lake Trailhead!  Improvements mean safer and accessible access to the trail. No longer will people need to park along U.S. 26 and backup into on-coming traffic.

Join us on Friday, November 9, 2018 to learn about the new trail and facility, and for a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Attendees will have a chance to see the new trailhead plaza, accessible trail, and parking area before they are officially opened to the public.  Additionally, the new Trailhead Plaza area has expanded parking, architectural finishes and public facilities.

Crews have been completing the finishing touches to the trailhead plaza and working hard to finish the highway improvements along U.S. 26.  Friday’s festivities will mark the completion of the three year planning and construction process. Great coordination between state & federal agencies and our local communities made this accomplishment possible and we want to thank our partners and the public for their teamwork and patience as we worked through this complex project.
