May events at Lolo Pass Visitor Center

Kamiah, Idaho (May 13, 2019) – Lolo Pass Visitor Center, located on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests along U.S. Highway 12 at the Idaho/Montana state line, has several events taking place in the month of May.
“There’s plenty of fun for the whole family taking place at Lolo Pass this month!” says Buffie Cerutti, Lolo Pass Visitor Center manager. “We hope you’ll take the time to visit and enjoy some of our upcoming events, as well as our beautiful spring weather.”
Throughout the month of May, Lolo Pass Visitor Center will be featuring the quilt work of Borg Hendrickson. Hendrickson is a well–known quilter whose work has been featured in quilt and gallery shows across the country. She resides along the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Clearwater River and her work is often inspired by the area's colorful history and untamed wilderness. Stop by the visitor center this month to enjoy some of her beautiful work.
World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday in May, with events taking place throughout the month. On May 31, Lolo Pass Visitor Center is celebrating migratory birds with a presentation by guest speaker Kate Davis, Executive Director of Raptors of the Rockies. Davis, along with several of her feathered friends, will be showcasing birds of prey and conservation efforts focused on these impressive animals. This free, family–friendly event begins at 9:30 a.m. PDT/10:30 a.m. MDT at the visitor center.
Please note that Lolo Pass Visitor Center will be closed Thursday, May 16 for staff training. Regular business hours will resume Friday, May 17.
The visitor center will continue to operate on its winter schedule (7:30 a.m. through 4:15 p.m. [PDT], Thursday through Monday) through the month of May. The visitor center will be open to visitors on Memorial Day, May 27, so make sure to stop by to enjoy a day outdoors at Lolo Pass to recognize the holiday.
