Pine Flats Campground Open

Release Date: Apr 8, 2016

Entiat - With warm weather and melting snow Entiat Ranger District recreation staff were able to get Pine Flats campground operational and open for the 2016 summer season. “Fire closures in the Upper Entiat have affected the community and ranger district the past few years,” says Jon Meier, Entiat Ranger District recreation manager, “we are trying to offer as many recreational opportunities as possible for forest visitors.”

Pine Flats Campground is nestled on the banks of the Mad River, 14 miles from Entiat, 4 miles off the Entiat Valley road, turn just past Cooper’s store.  The campground offers 6 tent sites that are on a first come, first serve basis and cost $8 per night. Amenities include toilets, potable water, and picnic tables. A group site is available for $60.00 by reservation on www.recreation.gov .

The Mad River trail, adjacent to the campground is open to hiking, biking, motorbikes and stock.  The trail has not been cleared of blowdown, however, user reports indicate little blowdown in the first few miles.
