Tumwater Campground Closed for the Season

Tumwater Campground closed August 29 for public safety. This popular campground is located off Highway 2, approximately nine miles northwest of Leavenworth, WA and is part of the Wenatchee River Ranger District on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
The Tumwater Campground is located within the 22,571 acre Chiwaukum Fire areas and is adjacent to Chiwaukum Creek. Because of the potential for heavy rain storms and subsequent flooding forecasted for the area, an immediate closure of the campground was ordered for public safety. The district regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause, but keeping the public safe from hazardous conditions is top priority.
The campground will remain closed for the duration of the season.
