Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area Opens

Ski Trail at Echo RidgeStarting Thursday, January 30, the Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area on the Chelan Ranger District will be open for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The recent snowfall provided excellent conditions for trail grooming, and all trails are groomed with the exception of the Outback Trail.  

Beginning January 30, in conjunction with the opening of Echo Ridge, there will be limited road closures to wheeled vehicles and snowmobiles to provide for Nordic grooming activities.  Washington Creek Road/FS Road No. 8021 and Purtteman Gulch Road/FS Road No. 8010 will be closed for grooming of Nordic trails.

All trailheads in the Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area are plowed and open for parking.

Come cross-country ski or snowshoe the gentle rolling terrain and enjoy the scenic views from over 25 miles of winter trails.  The Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area is located 10 miles northwest of the city of Chelan and is maintained through a cooperative effort between the U.S. Forest Service and the Lake Chelan Nordic Ski Club.

Cross country ski trail at Echo RidgeSki passes are required for both ski and snowshoe trail use at Echo Ridge.  Day passes are available on-site for $10 per adult, with no charge for skiers or snowshoers age 17 and under.  Season passes are available for $70 at the Chelan Ranger District office.
