The Olympic National Forest has a series of facility improvements scheduled for Klahowya Campground. The projects will include drilling a new well to provide potable water to the campground, replacing the double vault toilet, replacing the roof on the flush restrooms, and installing 3,560 feet of waterline.
These projects are partially funded with the fees collected at the site, as well as appropriated funds. While some of the work has already started, later stages will require closure of the campground. The closure is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5th. The campground will reopen May 2018.
