CA off-highway vehicle grants

Quincy, CA – March 7, 2017 – Plumas National Forest officials are seeking public comments on draft grant proposals for the 2017/2018 California Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant program. These grants would provide for:

  • Replacement of a leaking vault toilet at the La Porte Staging Area (ground operations),

  • Maintenance of various OHV staging areas/campgrounds and maintenance level 2 (ML2) roads and trails on the Feather River Ranger District (FRRD) (ground operations),

  • Installation of three new toilets to replace outdated pit toilets at Gold Lake 4x4 Campground on the Beckwourth Ranger District (development) and,

  • Boulders and signs/barriers to protect archaeology and sensitive plant sites near FRRD routes (restoration).

People may provide feedback & comment about the draft grant proposals above and law enforcement proposals noted earlier, on the CA State Parks website at: (http://www.ohv.parks.ca.gov/ ) now through April 3rd, 2017. Final applications are due to the State of California on May 1st, 2017.
