Roberts Cabin on the South Park Ranger Distric

 roberts cabin

Roberts Cabin, available for nightly rental during spring, summer and fall, is near Como, Colorado in the Pike National Forest.

It was built in the early 1870s and first used as a one-story stable.  The cabin was named for Fred Roberts, who owned the cabin and lived here in the 1880s.

In 1859, gold was first discovered in Colorado near this site where the rival gold mining towns of Hamilton and Tarryall were established in 1860. In 1861, Tarryall was named the first county seat of Park County. Neither town exists today.
