The Wildland Fire Training and Conference Center (WFTC) resides at the McClellan Business Park, formerly McClellan Air Force Base. The WFTC was created to implement National Fire Plan direction for the accelerated development and training of wildland firefighters. WFTC provides classroom and meeting facilities for federal, state, or local government non-commercial functions.

WFTC is home to the Wildland Firefighter Apprenticeship Program.

WFTC is centrally located in Sacramento, CA. serviced by air, rail and bus. Transportation from the Sacramento Airport to WFTC is readily available. WFTC is accessible from Highway 99, Interstates 5 and 80. WFTC has numerous hotels and restaurants within walking distance and/or 15 minutes driving time.

We offer:

  • 15 classroom/meeting rooms with built-in audio/visual equip including projection screen, projector, dvd/vcr, vga/hdmi port for laptop connectivity, telephone conference capabilities, and WiFi
  • 1 fully operational computer laboratory with built-in networked p.c's and audio/visual equip including projection screen, projector, dvd/vcr, vga/hdmi/DP port for laptop connectivity, telephone conference capabilities, and WiFi
  • 13 instructor prep/break-out rooms 10 - 20 person capacity
  • 276 person seating capacity in break/lunch room
  • Specialized training rooms: Aviation simulators and sand table rooms
  • Other amenities: Learning Library & Nursing Mother's Room
  • WiFi available for all Forest Service devices; Non-Forest Service WiFi available upon request
