Summary:   Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest have decided to cancel plans to conduct firing operations on the Virgin Fire. A significant amount of rain fell on the fire today.  Due to the amount of moisture received today, resource objectives can no longer be met.  The fire is fully contained at ninety acres.  The area may be considered for a prescribed fire in the future to take advantage of the completed fire lines.   The management of the fire will be returned to Jemez Ranger District fire personnel from the type 3 team.    All other resources will be released beginning this evening through tomorrow.  This will be the final update for the Virgin Fire.
