No Sales on Tuesdays at SFNF Las Vegas District Office ONLY
Release Date: May 21, 2019
SANTA FE, NM – May 21, 2019 – Customers will not be able to purchase fuelwood permits or other Forest Service products on Tuesdays at the Las Vegas District office of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) until further notice.
Recent staff departures have reduced the number of designated collection officers authorized to accept payment for fuelwood permits, maps, America the Beautiful interagency passes and other products on the Pecos/Las Vegas District. Until the SFNF can hire and train new collection officers, the Las Vegas office will not sell on Tuesdays. The office will still be open to answer questions and assist visitors with other issues.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this causes,” District Ranger Steve Romero said. “We want the public to know that they can still purchase fuelwood permits, maps and passes Monday through Friday at the Pecos District Office and every day but Tuesday at the Las Vegas District Office.”
Sales at Forest Headquarters in Santa Fe and the Española, Cuba, Coyote and Jemez District Offices are not impacted and will continue as usual Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.
For additional information, contact the Pecos District Office at 505-757-6121 or the Las Vegas District Office at 505-425-3534.
