Motor Vehicle Use Maps
Motor vehicle use maps (MVUMs) are now available from this website. These maps are the official maps for designating all roads and trails available for public motorized travel on the Shoshone National Forest. View, download, or print the maps from the Shoshone's MVUM page. Free paper maps are available from all Shoshone offices.
Shoshone National Forest Visitor Maps
Visitor maps for each national forest and grassland provide information on attractions, facilities, services, and opportunities.
The Shoshone is covered by two maps. The North Half includes the Absaroka Mountains, a portion of the Beartooth Mountains, the North Absaroka Wilderness, and the Washakie Wilderness. The South Half includes a portion of the Absaroka Mountains, the Wind River Mountains, the Fitzpatrick Wilderness and PoPo Agie Wilderness. You can order Shoshone National Forest Visitor Maps by mail or online at www.nationalforeststore.com.
Topographic maps provide the greatest level of detail and cover small portions of a forest or grassland. These maps are available to purchase from the U.S. Geological Survey.
