Forest hosts job fairs January 10 and 11

Redding, Calif. — The Shasta-Trinity National Forest (STNF) will be hosting two upcoming job fairs this week. At both job fairs, advisors will be on hand to discuss temporary job opportunities in both fire and non-fire career paths and guide interested applicants through the online application process. Temporary positions are available in botany, wildlife, fisheries, archaeology, recreation, administration, timber, hydrology, rangeland management, and firefighting. Duty locations on the STNF include Redding, Mt. Gate, Mt. Shasta, McCloud, Weaverville and Hayfork. Not all positions are available at all locations.
The first job fair will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Red Lion Hotel, 1830 Hilltop Drive, in Redding. The second job fair will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Weaverville Ranger Station, 360 Main St., in Weaverville. Both job fairs will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Interested applicants should bring their résumé, educational transcripts, and relevant certificates including a DD-214 for veterans or have them already loaded into a previously created USAJobs profile. Information regarding Veterans’ Preference and VRA Hiring Authority will also be available. If need be, staff will be on-hand to help applicants create and build personal USAJobs profiles. All applications must be submitted through https://www.usajobs.gov/ during the specific vacancy period. The vacancy period to submit fire related position applications is open Jan. 10-16 and can be submitted at the job fairs. The vacancy period for non-fire related positions will be open for applications Jan. 16-22.
