Summary: The East Fire was reported this afternoon, and is visible from San Carlos and Globe. Resources responding include: Globe Hotshots, 3 wildland fire engines, a helicopter and 2 airtankers. There is an airplane over the fire helping to guide retardant drops and lead firefighters in to the fire area.
The fire is burning near the East Trail in steep terrain containing timber and brush. There are no immediate threats to the public. Firefighters and air support are working to contain the fire. The public is being asked to avoid the Pioneer Pass Road to allow firefighters access into the area.
On Wednesday, April 11, 2019, 2 wildland engines, and 3 20 person crews will continue building line and taking suppression actions. Aircraft will be available to support firefighting efforts if needed.
