-
Plan ahead and prepare
-
Travel and camp on durable surfaces
-
Dispose of waste properly
-
Leave what you find
-
Minimize campfire impacts
-
Respect wildlife
-
Be considerate of other visitors
Know before you go. Check the weather forecast and be prepared for changing conditions. Use good judgement and basic safely precautions when hiking, fishing, camping, or on the water in the Tonto National Forest. Recent heavy rains and flooding have left areas with debris and washouts. The Tonto National Forest is still in the process of assessing and repairing damages.
Campfire, smoking and target shooting restrictions have been lifted. Please remember to never leave a campfire unattended, and make sure your campfire is cold to the touch before you leave. If your campfire is too hot to touch, it is too hot to leave.
