Temporary job openings for the 2016 field season require early online application

Pendleton, Oregon - Are you thinking about a summer job working in the beautiful Blue Mountains? The Umatilla National Forest is looking to fill a number of temporary job openings for the 2016 field season and this year’s timeline to submit applications is much earlier than in years past.
This year, applications for summer temporary employment will need to be submitted online at www.usajobs.gov during an 8-day period that begins November 30 and extends through December 7, 2015. Interested applicants are encouraged to create their USAjobs profile now to begin developing their application and compiling the required documentation.
Positions are available in a number of fields including:
- wildland firefighting
- timber
- silviculture
- developed recreation
- trails
- land survey
Position descriptions, duty locations, grade levels and hiring manager contact information for the 2016 temporary positions are posted on the Umatilla National Forest’s website at: www.fs.usda.gov/Umatilla/.
Duty locations may include District offices in Walla Walla and Pomeroy, Washington and Heppner, Ukiah and Pendleton, Oregon as well as several remote guard stations and lookouts scattered throughout the forest.
